Our meetings are currently online until further notice.

We meet on Zoom  for our official Monthly Meeting.  And we have a casual Zoom meeting on Thursday nights where members hangout, build, and chat.

And membership dues have been waved for the 2021 season!  It’s free to join!  Just contact us with our application information!

Interested in becoming an IPMS Livonia member? Awesome! 

Besides the fun and sociable atmosphere, our members gain first-hand knowledge of model building techniques, and participate in diverse model-related discussions. We often travel to contests together, and enjoy exclusive access to local hobby shop discounts.

We have members in all shapes, sizes, ages, and skill levels.  Some members bring something to show off every month.  Other members sit, watch, and learn.  Some members enjoy the research and history aspect, while others enjoy the relaxing feeling of making something creative at their own pace.

The model subjects include an wide array of subjects, including (but not limited to):

• Armored vehicles
• Ships
• Automobiles
• Aircraft
• Space, science-fiction, and robots
• Figures, anime, and busts
• Gaming minis
• Railroad
• Scratch-built projects

WHAT IS IPMS?

IPMS/USA is the United States Branch of the International Plastic Modelers’ Society.
IPMS/USA is a 5,000-member, all-volunteer organization dedicated to promoting the modeling hobby while providing a venue for modelers to share their skills in a social setting, along with friendly but spirited competition in the form of local, regional, and national contests and conventions.

IPMS Livonia is a local branch of the national IPMS club.
We are one of over 200 local USA branches.  You don’t need to be an IPMS/USA member to join the Livonia club, but we encourage it.

“Why should I join IPMS/USA?”
1) If you are a National member, you save a few dollars on Livonia membership.
2) Being a member if IPMS/USA qualifies you to participate in IPMS/USA sanctioned contests, and particularly the World-famous National Convention.  Our club loves to participate the the National event, and you have to be a National member in order to enter.
3) The National club helps our club in a variety of ways.   For example, they offer liability insurance for the local contests we hold.
4) You get a nice bi-monthly, glossy magazine, with articles, tips and hobby talk.

“Are there other local branches of IPMS/USA in the Detroit Metro Area?”
Sure!  Check out our friends in Warren and Ypsilanti, too!   The clubs are independent, so their scheduling and content may differ from ours.  You can also check out all of the clubs in our region on our Modeling Links page.

DUES:

Annual membership dues are:
$12 for IPMS USA members
$15 for non-IPMS USA members

We now offer convenient online payment as an option for membership dues.
